From Sir Ralph De Ottely, living 30 Ed. I., descended Isabella, who by Robert De Willerby had a daughter, Joan, who married Smyth, styled of Acthorpe, the mother parish of Elkington. This Smyth apparently had two brothers, John, designated in contemporary deeds Le Faber, and Andrew, whose son John was a priest. By Joan Willerby, who was living in 1421, he had a son John of Acthorpe, or Elkington, probably the John of the Visitation of 1433.[10]
