Biography

Albert Edwin Smyth was born in 1904 at St Rollox, Glasgow, Scotland.[1] He was the son of Willie Smyth and Charlotte Hall. His parents were originally from Ireland but had moved to Glasgow shortly before Albert was born. The family returned to Ireland before 1911.

In the 1911 Ireland census Albert was age 6 living at Carclunty, Co. Antrim with his father William Smyth (34), mother Charlotte Smyth (25?), brothers Norman H Smyth (11), Jack Smyth (9), Walter N Smyth (4).[2]

Albert was married to Ellen (possibly Helen Maxwell who married an Albert Smyth in Belfast in 1932). It is not known how many children they had. Albert worked as an insurance agent.

Albert died in 1955 at Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland.[3]. He was buried at Clandeboye Cemetery.[4]
