Biography

John Johnston Smyth was born on April 6, 1904, at Callaus Street in Armagh, County Armagh, Ireland. He was the son of John Smyth and Matilda Stitt.^[1]

In the 1911 Ireland census John (age 7), scholar, was living with his parents and 4 siblings in Armagh, Ireland.^[2]

He married Annie Duke on 31 Aug 1923 ^{[citation needed]}

John immigrated with his wife to Canada on the ship Metagama, arriving in Quebec on September 13, 1924.^[3]

John Johnson Smyth died on August 18, 1983 in Newmarket, York Region, Ontario, Canada at the age of 79 years. He was laid to rest at Morewood Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Morewood, Ontario.^[4]
