Charles Henry "Harry" Smyth was born on February 10, 1910 in Moncton, New Brunswick.[1] He was the son of Charles Henry Smyth and Jennie Richardson.
Harry was a speedskater. In 1929, he won every race in which he competed, including the world championship. He represented Canada in the 1932 Winter Olympics, where he placed 8th in the 5000m. Harry was inducted into the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame in 1973.[2]
Harry married Marion Sharpe on July 22, 1930 in Moncton, New Brunswick.[3]
He died on September 20, 1992.
