He was baptised Andrewe Smith on 01 Aug 1556 at All Hallows, Lombard Street, London.
Wadmore suggested that Andrew died as an infant, presumably based on the monument for Thomas and Alice Smythe at St Mary's Ashford, Kent which includes the figure of a small child lying at their feet.
However, in the 1869 edition of the Visitation of London in 1568 Andrew was recorded as the son and heir of Thomas Smythe, while in the 1963 edition Andrew was recorded as being 12 years and 9 months old at the time of the visitation indicating he was born around 1555/1556. No further records for Andrew have been identified. He must therefore have died in the period 1568-1591 as he was not recorded in the will of his father.
