Owen Smythe Rites Held Monday
Funeral services for Owen Smythe, 63, of Dresden, were held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at the Dresden Methodist church with Rev.Leonard F. Williams officiating. Burial was in Dresden cemetery.
Mr. Smythe died Friday morning in flood Samaritan hospital. He was born in Dresden on Oct. 27, 1883, the son of John Q. and Margaret Smythe. He was an
employe of the Bush Woolen Mill, Dresden. On Aug. 17, 1910, he was married to Meda St. Clair, who survives.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Louise Dawson, Mrs. Doris Jones, Mrs. Essie Brown, and Mrs. Erma Hamby, all of Dresden; a son Gerald Symthe, of Dresden; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Jackson and Mrs. Erma Hunter, both of Zanesville; five brothers, Robert and Elmer Smythe, both
of Dresden; Denzel Smythe, of Norwich; William Smythe of Nashport, and Otto Smythe of Dayton; and five grandchildren. [1]
