I am the eldest child born to older parents after WWII in Philadelphia, PA. I have a younger sister and still younger brother. We grew up in Natick, Massachusetts, attending public schools. I graduated with a BS degree from the University of Massachusetts, got married, and moved to New Jersey, and then to Maryland. I was able to move to Colorado in 1978 and have moved a few times within the Denver metro area. My father comes from a long line of Massachusetts and Rhode Island founders. I may be able to trace lineage to the Mayflower. Many of his ancestors lived in Dartmouth, Tiverton, Rehoboth, Little Compton and surrounding towns in Massachusetts near the changing Rhode Island border. Common surnames are Snell Ballou, Whipple, Macomber, Briggs and Peck.
My mother's ancestors hailed from Wales and Scotland and settled in southeast Pennsylvania during the time of William Penn. The most common surnames were Woodman, Stephens, Evans, and Smith. The Stephens farm was located in the southeast area of the campgrounds of Valley Forge.
I have Revolutionary Soldier ancestors through both of my parents.

How are you? I'm Shirley, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.
If you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info. Do you have Royal Ancestors? Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.
And I'm here to help too, just ask!

Options for getting started:
1. Sourcing makes the difference between genealogy and mythology.
2. In order to build one collaborative tree, each person must have only ONE profile.
Let me or another Mentor Team member know if you have questions.
