Suffreines Snell (aka Suffrunes/Sefrenes) Snell was born June 24, 1784, in Manheim Center, Herkimer county, New York, a son of Peter Jost Snell and Susanna (Kilts) Snell. His father is a veteran of the American Revolutionary War, whose DAR records give his name as Suffreines Snell, however, his name on his grave monument is spelled Sefrenes (by his children). In 1807, in Manheim, Herkimer county, New York, Suffreines married Eve Fry. Their children: Peter, Anna, Levi, Enoch, Eliza, Phebe, Emily, Elizabeth, Jehoram, Edwin, Elvina, and Sofirus Snell. Sefrenes died September 23, 1872, and is buried in the Snells Bush Lower cemetery, in Manheim.[1]
