John Henry Snell was born March 27, 1850, in Manheim, Herkimer county, New York, a son of Jacob J. Snell and Amy (Timmerman) Snell. [1] John H. Snell is found on the United States Census of 1850, living with his parents in Manheim, in the household of his grandfather, Jacob Snell and his grandmother Maria Caroline "Mary" Snell. [2]
On October 14, 1874 at Saint Johns Dutch Reformed Church, in Johnsville, Montgomery county, New York, John married Sarah Ellen "Sadie" Saltsman. [3] a daughter of William Henry Saltsman and Marietta (Timmerman) Saltsman.
John Henry died January 30, 1898, and is buried in the Prospect View cemetery, in Saint Johnsville, Montgomery county, New York. There are photographs of his headstone on his Find A Grave memorial. [4]
