Birth info from family records handwritten in 1875 Atlas of Shelby Co.
This information summarized from Moweaqua newspapers: After his
father (William Henry, Sr.) died in 1890, the farm was sold to pay debts.
Bill Snell moved to Blue Mound in about 1895. He worked for Baldridge
and Osborne at the Blue Mound Brick and Tile Factory and purchased the
building and about 7 acres at the east end of Blue Mound in 1896. The
brick part of the Blue Mound house would have been built about then. He
married Cornelia Adora Jarvis in Moweaqua on 23 Feb 1898. He managed
a clothing store in Blue Mound and was a member of the Blue Mound School Board for about 20 years. Bill also directed the town band, which included sons Dale (drums) and Robert (clarinet).
