Biography

John was born in 1783. He was the son of John Schneider and Gertrude Barrick. He passed away in 1863.

John Snider made his will made in Hancock County, Kentucky on March 9, 1853 and it was probated on June 22, 1863.[1] He names his children as James W., George B., Charity Barnett, William (deceased) and his heirs Thomas N. and Theophilius A.; Mary Tabor (deceased) and her heirs Lettice Kuel and William Kuel; Margaret Newton (deceased) and her heirs Augustus Newton, Hester Ann Newton and John Thomas Newton; Sidney Jane Newton, Robert M. Snider and Nancy Shaffer.

The daughter of John Snider named Nancy married Henry Shaffer in Clark County, Ohio in 1834.[2] Nancy Shaffer is counted living with Henry Shaffer in 1850 in Clark County, Ohio.[3] Nancy Ratliff was living in Greenville, Darke County, Ohio at the same time.[4] Nancy Snider Shaffer and Nancy Snider Ratliff are two different people.
