Biography

Thomas Snow, Jr., was born in June 1709 in Eastham, Barnstable County on old Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He was the son of Thomas Snow, Sr., and his wife, Lydia Sears (Hamblen) Snow, both from old Cape Cod families. His paternal great-grandparents were Nicholas Snow, who emigrated in 1623 in HMS Anne, to Plymouth; and who married Constance Hopkins, a Mayflower passenger in 1620, from Hampshire, England.

On February 19, 1730, Thomas married Rachel Nickerson in Harwich (now Brewster), Barnstable County, Massachusetts. They had 10 children together, all in Harwich, Massachusetts:

Thomas Snow, Jr., died in his home at Harwich, Massachusetts, in March 1778. His will was proven on April 3, 1778. According to the research of Ron Nickerson in 2008:[1]

"Appraisal of the estate was made 16 February 1779. The final account showed also 152 pounds 3 shillings and 4 pence to be divided among the heirs, the widow receiving one third. Other amounts were allotted to son, Samuel Snow, of Marblehead, Mass.; Ruth Higgins, the heirs of sons Thomas and Isaac, and daughter Priscilla Whelden. The total value of his lands and buildings was 703 pounds."
