Snow entered the Methodist Conference as a Pastor in 1863 and was the Chaplain for the 3rd Regiment, South Carolina Infantry, Confederate States of America Army, during the American "War Between the States" [US Civil War]. Later he was a Methodist Circuit-Riding Minister in Georgetown and Williamsburg Counties in South Carolina.
He married Mary Elizabeth Varn on May 24, 1864 in Colleton County, South Carolina, CSA. The couple lived in Georgetown and Williamsburg Counties, South Carolina, and had 8 children:
