Biography

Isaac Cutter Snow was born 15 August 1801 in Litchfield, Herkimer County, New York, USA. He was said the youngest son of Elijah Snow, b: 1762 in Worcester, Massachusetts, and his wife, Abigail (Hoppin) Snow, b: 1765 in Charlestown, Middlesex, Massachusetts. Isaac C. Snow and his family arrived in Williams County, Ohio, in 1844, after living in Lysander, Onondaga County, New York, and briefly in Lenawee County, Michigan.[1]

Isaac had married Ruth Ann Elliott on June 30, 1825 in Onondaga County, New York. The couple moved to Williams County, Ohio, in 1844. Isaac C. Snow was a prosperous and well known farmer of Bridgewater Township, Williams County, Ohio. Isaac & Ruth Ann (Elliott) Snow had 10 children:

  1. Henry Snow, 1826–d: before 1870
  2. Elma Jane Snow, 1828–1906
  3. James Elbridge Snow, 1828–1911
  4. Charlotte Snow, 1830–1856
  5. Sarah Ann Snow, 1832–1912
  6. Caroline R. Snow, 1833–1905
  7. Sylvester Isaac Snow, 1837–1856
  8. Sophia Louisa Snow, 1840–1889
  9. Horace Adelbert Snow, 1846–1936
  10. Emmarancia Francesca Snow, 1848–1932

Isaac Cutter Snow passed away 22 August 1878 at 77 years old in Williams County, Ohio. He was buried at the Pease Cemetery, Pioneer, Williams County, Ohio, USA. [2] His wife, Ruth Ann (Elliott) Snow, passed away on 1 October 1880 at 74 years old in Bridgewater Township, Williams County, Ohio, USA. She was buried next to her husband (sharing a grave monument with son, Henry, b: 1826 in NY), at the Pease Cemetery, Pioneer, Williams, Ohio, USA.[3]
