It is with great sadness that the family of Jennie Elizabeth (Snow) George announce her passing on Friday, December 19, 2014, surrounded by her loving family in Colchester, East Hants Health Center, Truro. Born in Canso, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Angeline (Pellerine) Snow. Throughout mom's life, her profound dedication to family, brought joy to her life and those around her. Family gatherings, days at the trailers and music around the campfire, were the times that mom cherished most. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, reading, playing bingo and a good card game. She was a lifetime member of The Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch 46.
She will be lovingly missed and never forgotten by her children, Courtney (Marie), Port Hawkesbury; Cecil (Judy), Mount Uniacke; Eric (Diane), Cochrane, AB; Kenneth (Velma), New Market, ON; daughters, Muriel Penny (Allan), Beaver Bank; Fran Bouchie (Tim), Truro; daughter in-law, Gloria. Also left to mourn are her 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, June Baker (Gord), Rita Moore, Millie Cummings (Jim); brother, Fred (Marion) Snow; sisters-in-law, Gertie and Anna Snow.
She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil [George]; son, Victor; daughter-in-law, Helen; brothers, Henry, Leonard "Leno", Ellsworth, Michael "Pearl" and Douglas; sisters, Ida Snow and Esther Carter.
A funeral mass was held December 22 in "Star of the Sea" Roman Catholic Church, Canso, Father Dan MacDonald officiated, burial in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Eastern Memorial Hospital or a charity of one's choice.
