John Snow was born about 1818-1819 in Warren (became DeKalb in 1837) County, eastern Tennessee. He was the son of Joseph Snow, b: 1772 in Delaware, and his wife, Martha (Martin) Snow, b: ca. 1782 in South Carolina, USA. John Snow was the couple's 3rd child and 2nd son. His parents had moved from North Carolina to eastern Tennessee before 1813, with Joseph's older brother, Ebenezer Snow, b: 1758, and his family. Ebenezer Snow settled on a farm on the border of Roane and Morgan Counties, Tennessee. Joseph Snow moved 90 miles further west, in what was then Warren County and became DeKalb County, Tennessee, in 1837. John's older brother, Isaac Snow, was their first child born in the family's 2-room log cabin, at the foot of what became known as "Snow Hill," in 1814.
John Snow married Nancy Leathers McIntyre, b: 1823 in Rutherford NC, in about 1843, in DeKalb County, Tennessee. The couple initially had a farm near Snow Hill, DeKalb, Tennessee. In 1851 they moved to Blythe, Marion County, Arkansas. John and Nancy (McIntyre) Snow had the following 7 children: [1]
Mary E SNOW b: 16 April 1845 in DeKalb, Tennessee, USA
Elvira Jane SNOW b: 1847 in DeKalb, Tennessee, USA
John L SNOW b: 1849 in DeKalb, Tennessee, USA
Nancy Ann SNOW b: 1852 in Marion, Arkansas, USA
William M SNOW b: 2 January 1853 in Marion, Arkansas, USA

In 1900, three of John & Nancy L. (McIntyre) Snow's daughters, all apparently unmarried, were reported living together in Blythe, Marion County, Arkansas. They were Mary Snow, 55 yrs. old; Nancy Snow, 43 yrs.; and Martha Snow, 40 yrs. old. Both their parents had passed away and their brother, William Snow, had married and moved to Taylor, Texas. Their sister Christina Snow married F.M. Smithers in 1890 but was not on the Marion County, Arkansas, Census in 1900.[6]

It's worth noting that this family was also recorded in Marion Co., Arkansas, on the same 1850 Census; they must have already established a home there too but their daughter, Nancy Ann Snow, was born in 1852 in Tennessee.
