Biography

Frank Snay. 1877-1941, was the son of Louis Snay and Mary Gerardi.

In 1880, the Snay family lived in Berlin, Monroe, Michigan. The household included

Frank Snay, 32, and Christine Peters, 20, were married on 17 November 1909 In Detroit, Wayne, Michigan. Fred E. DeGaw, Justice of the Peace, officiated. Witnesses were William H. Guyotte and George L. Whitney, both of Detroit. Frank, a polisher, was born in Michigan in 1877, the son of Louis Snay and Mary Guorday. Christine was born in Michigan in 1889, the daughter of John and Helen Peters. [2]

In 1910, the Snay family lived in their rented house at 154 Helen Ave., Detroit, Michigan. All could read and write. The family included

  • Frank Snay Son 32 Michigan, married, polisher at stove works

Frank Joseph Snoy, 39, registered for the WWI Draft in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan on 12 September 1918. Frank was born on 27 October 1878. He lived with his wife Christine (Peters) Snoy at 193 Engle St., Detroit. Frank worked as a hand screw machine (operator) for Zenith Carburetor Company. He was 5’ 7” tall, of medium build, with blue eyes and brown hair. [4] [5]

In 1920, the Snay family lived at 193 Engle Ave., Detroit, Wayne, Michigan. They owned their house with a mortgage. The adults could read and write. The family included

  • Frank J Snay, 42, born in Michigan (parents b. MI), an auto factory metal polisher
  • Christine Snay Wife 30 b. Michigan (parents b. Canada)
  • Lawrence Snay Son 5 b. Michigan, in school [6]

Frank’s wife Christine died in 1920, after the Census was taken. She was thirty years old.

In 1940, Frank and his son were lodgers with Mr. and Mrs. Parks at 695 Helen Ave., Detroit, Michigan. They all had lived there for at least five years. The household included

  • Harry Park, 53, born in Michigan, an auto factory watchman
  • Jane Park Wife 51 b. Michigan
  • Frank Snay Lodger 62 b. Michigan, lodger, widowed, had outside income, had completed the sixth grade
  • Mike Snay Son 13 b. Michigan

Living nearby at 651 Helen Ave. was Arthur Snay, 35, his wife Catherine, and two lodgers. [7]

Frank Snay, a widower, died on 28 July 1941 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan. He was born on 22 October 1877 in Detroit, the son of Louis Snay and Mary Elisabeth Giraddy. [8]
