Biography

On January 1, 1787, Catharine Snyder was born in Williamstown (Anderson).

On Feb. 11, 1807, Catharine Snyder married David Amey in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian in Williamstown, Ontario. Another source had them married on July 11th, below. [1]

David Amey was born on Aug. 8, 1785 to Nicholas Amey/Emeigh and Margaret Stover. [2]

On July 11, 1807, Catharine married David Amey of Earnestown. Catharine was of Lancaster. [3]

In July, 1807, David Amey made a land petition, as a yeoman of Ernestown Township, Addington County, for 200 acres. He was the son of Nicholas Amey, a Loyalist of the same township. Sheldon Hawley certified the petition. On Jan. 26, 1808, the petition was recommended. [4]

On November 9, 1807, Jeremiah Amey was born. He may also have been known as Ludowick (Anderson).

On July 29, 1809, Jacob Amey was born in Ernestown Township (Anderson).

On September 17, 1847, David Amey died in Ernestown Township. He and Catherine were both buried in Union Lutheran cemetery, Ernestown Township. [5]

On September 9, 1847, Catherine died in Ernestown Township (Anderson). David Amey died in 1847. Catherine also died in 1847. They are both buried in Union Lutheran cemetery, Ernestown, Ontario. [6]
