Biography

About 1796, Simon was born.

"Simeon" was baptized on 16 April 1796 in Williamstown, Charlottenburg, Glengarry, Upper Canada, British Colonial America.[1]

Simon married Sarah McIntosh in Williamstown. She was born about 1800.

About 1818, John Snider was born.

On August 29, 1821, Catherine Snider was born in Dulcemaine.

About 1825, William Snyder was born. On December 14, 1825, he was baptized in Williamstown.

On December 21, 1827, Jeremiah Snyder was born. On January 22, 1828, he was baptized in Williamstown. [2]

On Oct. 14, 1828, Simon Snider, a yeoman of Lancaster Township, made a land petition for 200 acres. He was the son of the late Jeremiah Snider, a Loyalist of the same township. James Pringle certified that Jeremiah Snider had retained his loyalty during the late war and that Simon Snider had done his duty in the defense of the province. On Dec. 3, 1828, the petition was recommended. On the cover, Simon was recorded as a Loyalist, but he had not claimed that in his petition. As Simon was over 21 years old he had to have been born before or about 1807. [3]

On November 22, 1829, Benjamin Snider was born. On January 18, 1830, he was baptized. He married Eliza Latimer and later Margaret Lee.

About 1831, Henry Snider was born. [4]

On October 11, 1831, Ann/Nancy Agnes Snider was born. [5] On January 18, 1832, she was baptized in Williamstown. She married Mr. Trickey.

On December 17, 1835, Sarah Snider was born.

On July 13, 1837, Sarah (McIntosh) Snider died.

About 1840, Simon married Hester Griffin. She was born in 1810 in Upper Canada.

On January 8, 1841, Elizabeth Snider was born in Lansdowne, Leeds.

On August 1, 1843, Jeremiah Snider was born in Lansdowne.

In 1845, Maria Snider was born in Lansdowne.

On September 9, 1846, Lucy Snider was born. She married John Blair who was born about 1850 to James Blair and Maria Dailey. Was John her cousin, the son of James Blair and Ann Dailey at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Blair-3260?

On Jane 8, 1849, Margaret Snider was born.

On August 8, 1853, Charles Snider was born.

On February 17, 1856, Eliza Snider was born in Leeds.

The 1861 Lansdowne Census recorded a Simon Snider, age 65, a Free Church farmer, with his wife Hester, 48, and their children Margret, 11, Charles 8, and Eliza, 5, all born in Upper Canada and the remainder Wesleyan Methodists. He was on 50 acres of Lot 14, Con. 4.
