Biography

Birth, Marriage, and Death

Charles Louis Snyder was born 11 June 1882. He was the son of Edwin Snyder and Louisa Chaffin. The family were members of Trinity Moravian Church on Sunnyside Avenue, Salem, North Carolina. (Nowadays Winston-Salem).

On 28 August 1907 twenty five year old Charles and nineteen year old Carrie Holder, daughter of William and Alice B. Holder, were united in marriage in Winston-Salem. The marriage was performed by a minister of the Moravian Church, whose name appears to possibly be C. D. Conrad. [1]

Charles, a sixty nine year old furniture dealer, died of a cerebral hemmorage on 5 April 1952 in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina and was buried in Salem Moravian God's Acre. At the time of his death, Charles had been residing at 837 E. Devonshire St. with his wife, Carrie Holder Snyder. The death certificate also confirms that his parents were Edwin P. and Louise Chaffin Snyder[2] Memorial ID 51833804 God's Acre SQUARE: 03O ROW: 02 GRAVE: 01 [1]
