Biography

Funeral services for Arthur C. Snyder, 86, will be held at 11 a.m. today, at First United Methodist Church, 4300 Howard Ave., Western Springs, where he will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services. Born Nov. 22, 1916, he died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002. Interment will be private. Mr. Snyder was past commander of the American Legion Harry G. Maxted Post, of Western Springs. He was a 3rd degree Shriner and a Mason. Arthur was the beloved husband of Barbara; father of Michael, Richard (Carol) and Jody (Rob) Snyder; grandfather of Jennifer, Kelly, Shannon, Jason, Mike, Benjamin and Michelle; great-grandfather of Bailey, Cade, Austin, Cameron, Caleb, Molly and Mallory; uncle of Alvina "Butch" Brion; and former husband of Joan P. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Visitation was Monday, at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside.
