He either married twice, or his wife was known by both Mary and Martha (last name unknown). His daughters Elizabeth and Judith married into the Thweatt family (sometimes spelled Threatt). William died in or after 1714, in Henrico County, Virginia.[3]
William Soane was Burgess for Henrico County, Virginia in 1695-96 and 1698.[4]
Research Notes
Alternate birth date:
"William Soane was born February 25, 1654 in Hartley Wesphall, Hampshire, England, the son of Henry Soane.[5]" This is an alternate birth date found on the merged profiles of Soane-17 and Soane-10.
This birth date and place is inaccurate. William's father, Henry Soane, received a grant of land in Virginia which was recorded in 1651 for transport of 6 persons: Henry Soane, Sr. (self), Henry Soane, Jr., Judith Soane, Sr. (wife), Judith Soane, Jr., John Soane, and Elizabeth Soane.[6] The only children born in England were Henry Soane, Jr., Judith Soane, Jr., John Soane, and Elizabeth Soane. William must have been born after their arrival in Henrico County, Virginia. Strutton-11 19:23, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
