Manoel Joaquim Soares was born in 1861 at Queanbeyan, in the Colony of New South Wales, Australia. His father was Gualter Soares and his mother Anna Stewart.

He passed away in 1943 at Kempsey, New South Wales, Australia and was buried at the West Kempsey Church of England cemetery.

MR. MANOEL J. SOARES
The death occurred in hospital at Kempsey on Sunday night of Mr. Manoel J. Soares, aged 83 years. A son of the late Rev. and Mrs. G. Soares, of Goulburn district, deceased was born at Queanbeyan. He resided for some years at Rollands Plains, and from there he went to Bowraville about 1916. He retired from farming in 1932, and took up residence at Tewinga, later at Macksville. For some time past he and his wife were residing with their son, Mr. Gordon Soares, of Clybucca.
Besides his wife he is survived by a family of two daughters, Mrs. P. Dunne (Bankstown) and Miss L. Soares (Macksville), and one son, Mr. Gordon Soares (Clybucca). A brother, Mr. A. D. Soares, is a resident of Brisbane, while a sister, Mrs. Burstal, resides in Sydney. The funeral took place to-day, Tuesday, from J. R. Garland's funeral chapel where Rev. A. E. Warr conducted a service. The cortege proceeded to the West Kempsey Church of England cemetery, where Rev. Warr officiated at the graveside.
