Would one of you PPP PLEASE remove William Sublette (1779 - 1830) Sublette-9 as a son of Benjamin (Soblet) Sublett Sr (1733 - 1816) Soblet-1. Benjamin didn't have a son named William and this William Sublette (1779 - 1830) married Benjamin's daughter Mary Scott Sublett (1788 - 1862) Soblet-1 William is the son of Abraham Sublett Jr. (1756 - 1844) Sublett-8 Celia Sublett (1760 - 1827) Sublett-9 (William named in Will)

Is this where the info. coming from connecting William as a son THIS IS INCORRECT!!

U.S., Sons of the American Revolution Membership Applications, 1889-1970 about William Sublette Name: William Sublette SAR Membership: 100129 Birth Date: 2 Jun 1779 Birth Place: Bowling Green, Kentucky Death Date: 3 Mar 1831 Death Place: Long Hollow, Alabama Father: Benjamin Sublette Mother: Elizabeth M Jordan Spouse: Mary Scott Sublette Children: Martha Jane Sublette

Benjamin and Elizabeth are Mary Scott Sublette's parents!

William Sublette (1779 - 1830) Sublette-9 is a duplicate of William Sublett (abt. 1787 - 1830) Sublett-6

Detached Willam as son and proposed merge of Sublette-9 into Sublette-6.
This biography still needs clean up from the merge late last year. Also, the sourcing needs some attention -- right now, the primary source for the inline citations are all DAR lineage application database records, which are not considered Reliable Sources for Southern Colonies Project profiles. Is one of the profile managers or anyone else who has a special interest in this profile willing to take a crack at cleaning it up?

I've added WikiTree-24 as a manager to support PPP.

Did we only have PPP for the merge? Do we want to retain PPP & project box (and add project account) or remove PPP & switch project box to sticker?
posted by Liz (Noland) Shifflett
I'd tend toward keeping PPP, but my decision on that tends more that way than others.
posted by William Foster Jr
mine too. I'll add the project account & post a comment.

Soblet-1 and Sublett-295 appear to represent the same person because: same dates/look to be intended to be same person. in absence of primary sources, I proposed merge into Sublett. Let me know if you have documentation to the contrary. Thanks!

According to the book "The Sublett (Soblet) Family of Manakintown, King William Parish, Virginia" by Cameron Allen, F.A.S.G., "The 23d April, 1733, was born Bainjamain Soblet, son of Pierre Louys Soblet and of Marte, his wife; had for godfather, Gedeon Chanbon, and Wollter Stot; for godmother, Anne David. The parties have declared that he was born the day and year above named," quoting R. A. Brock, "Huguenot Emigration to Virginia," p. 88 (citing Jean Chastain, clerk).

So his birth name was Benjamin Soblet, and later in life his name was anglicized to Sublett. So this page should have been merged into Soblet-1 before being changed to "protected" status (I'm not sure if that knot can be untied now).

Based on that, I would agree that the LNAB should be Soblet. I've added the information and source to the bio. Thanks for providing it. Liz is a leader and can remove PPP as needed, so no worries about any knots!  ;)

Yes, the PPP should be switched to Soblet-1 which should also be the target of the merge. Liz, can you make that so? :-)

PPP switched. Thanks y'all!
