Biography

Octavie Soileau, daughter of Lastie Soileau and Adele Lemoine, was born on 13 Feb. 1858 and baptized on 3 April 1838, her birth and baptism were recorded at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ville Platte, Evangeline Parish, Louisiana.[1]

She married Charles Fontenot, her first cousin and son of Jean Baptiste Fontenot and Louisa Lemoine, on 27 Oct. 1874, their marriage was recorded at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Washington, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.[1]

She married Achille Duprie, son of Durel Dupre and Irma Deville, on 7 Feb. 1889 their marriage was recorded at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Washington, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.[1]

Octavie died on 8 Nov. 1936 at Evangeline Parish, Louisiana and was buried at Old Grand Prairie Cemetery, Grand Prairie, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.[2]
