James was born in 1829 and baptised 22nd November 1829 at St. Nicholas, Sturry, Kent, England, the son of James Sole (wagoner)and Elizabeth Sole of Caulket {sic} in Sturry {Kent, England}[1]. N.B. Calcott is a hamlet halfway between Sturry and Herne.
James SOLE married Elizabeth EMPTAGE 13th October 1855 at St. Nicholas at Wade, Kent, England. James SOLE, 26, bachelor, labourer, of St. Peters {in Thanet}, son of James SOLE (labourer) and Elizabeth EMPTAGE, 20, spinster, of St, Nicholas at Wade, daughter of Elijah EMPTAGE (labourer). Witnessed by John EMPTAGE & Eliza WILES.[2]
He passed away in 1859[3].
