Marriage and Family
On 8 Nov 1883, in Saline, Missouri Rufus Penn Anthony married Martha "Mattie" Ann Solomon.[2][3]
The couple continues living in Marshall, Saline, Missouri. They have three children, but the youngest passes away when he is two years old. In 1900, they and their two children own a house there, and Rufus works as a carpenter.[4]
In 1910, Mattie and Rufus have moved to Johnson, Missouri, along with their oldest son, Holland Anthony. Rufus now owns a farm. Holland has been out of work most of the year, but currently works as a coal miner. [5]
By 1920, Rufus and Mattie live on their own. Rufus still runs the family farm. [6]
In April of 1930, Holland lives with them again. This time, he appears with his wife and daughter. Holland helps out on the farm. [7]
Their marriage ended on 19 Nov 1930, he was chopping down a tree. It fell on him, killing him instantly.[8]

Conflict
Missouri records indicate Rufus Penn Anthony married Martha "Mattie" Ann Solomon on 8 Nov 1883. However, the 1900 census says they married in 1885. [4]
Research
Her death certificate indicates that Bennet Solomon is her father. However, I can only find one Bennet Solomon on a census with a Martha/Mattie - and that child is one year old on the 1860 census. Therefore, either there is another Bennett with a child with the same name, or Mattie is 5 years older than all records state.
