Biography

Ashley Forest Solomon was born June 30, 1915, the eight child born to Ashley Alfred Solomon (1874-1957) and Sarah Florence (Anderson) Solomon (1876-1952) in Timpson, Shelby, Texas ^[1]. He lived with his parents in Shelby until at least 1940 ^{[1] [2] [3] [4]}. He enlisted into the army for World War II on August 11th, 1941, served in the Air Corps and was released on September 2nd 1945 ^{[5] [6]}. He married Rowena Driskell on March 13, 1945 in Shelby County, Texas ^[7]. After leaving the army, he worked in the groundwood department at a paper mill ^[8]. He died on March 1st, 1979 in Lufkin, Angelina, Texas ^{[9] [10]} from heart failure ^[8].
