Hugh (Somerville) Somerville Fourth Lord Somerville is a member of Clan Somerville.

Hugh, 4th Lord Somerville, was the son of William Somerville and Janet Douglas born about 1486.[1]

He married firstly, Anne Hamilton, natural daughter of James Hamilton, 1st earl of Arran. Anne died of smallpox in 1516.[2]

Hhe married secondly, Janet Maitland, daughter of William Maitland of Lethington.[2] They had issue:

  1. James, 5th Lord[2]
  2. John, of Broomhill[2]
  3. Hugh, m. daughter of John Tweedie of Drummelzier[3]
  4. Robert, d. bef. 5 Mar 1591[3]
  5. Michael[3]
  6. William, vicar of Kirkbean[3]
  7. Margaret, m. Charles Murray of Cockpool, 2 Jan 1547[3]
  8. Agnes, m. John, son of James Tweedie of Drummelzier in 1533[3]
  9. Elizabeth, m. John Carmichael of that Ilk in 1541.[3]

Hugh died in 1549 and was buried in Carnwath Church.[2]
