Biography

Placide Sonnier was born about 1792 in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. He and Marie Anastasie Dugas were married on 23 February 1813 at La Butte, St. Martin Parish, Louisiana.[1]

His family was counted on a census in 1803 in Grande Prairie, Attakapas, Louisiana.[2]

Placide Sonnier was a member of the Louisiana Militia during the United States War of 1812.[3][4]

He died in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana on 18 April 1835, and was buried in Lafayette.[1]
