Sarah was born in 1876 in Mount Vernon, Maine, the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Trask Soper. The family moved to Auburn, Maine in the late 1800's where she met and married George Washington Fish in 1898. It was her first marriage and his second.
George and her father were both employed as carpenters. Shortly after the birth of their first child, Norman "Jake" Fish in 1899, the family moved to the Worcester, Massachusetts area where they lived along with her parents. Her father died in 1904 and her mother returned to Rockland, Maine to live with her daughter Lillian, Sadie Grace's half-sister.
George and Sadie had six children, four sons and two daughters, five of whom were born in Massachusetts. The family finally moved back to Maine sometime before the 1930 census, living in Carthage.
She passed away of cancer in 1953 in Dixfield, Maine where she is buried at the Riverside Cemetery.
