Biography

Christian Sorensen was born 05 January 1823 in Asdal, Hjorring, Denmark. His father was Soren Christensen and his mother was Maren Christiensdatter.
Christian Sorensen married 1st wife Kirstina Maria Brykman about 1847/1848 in Denmark. Kirstine Maria Brykman b. Oct 22, 1824 Jelstrup, Vennebjaerg, Hjorring, Denmark d. Jan 4, 1856 on board ship in the North Atlantic Ocean. She was buried in the North Atlantic Ocean.
Christian and Kirstina had 4 children: Marie, Maren, Marie, Melina, Christen who either died as infants or as young children.
Christian Sorensen married 2nd wife Anne Caroline Pedersdatter abt 1856 in Burlington, Des Moines, Iowa.
Christian and Anne had 6 children: Matilda, Joseph, Amelia, Tomina, Caroline, Nephi who all grew to adults.
Christian Sorensen married 3rd wife Maren Christina (Stena or Stenie) Pedersdatter Jan 24, 1863 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah.
Maren Christina Pedersdatter parent's were Peder Christensen and Maren Nielsdatter.
Christian Sorensen and Maren had 8 children: Sara Christine, Christen, Maren Christina, Hyrum, James G., Emma Helena, Erastus, Joseph F.[1]
