Biography
William Sorrell died September 20, 1880 in King George County near Comon, of consumption (TB). His parents were listed as unknown and he was a widower. His son William Sorrell Jr., provided the information. He stated his father was born in King George. However William’s brother George stated, in 1869, on his marriage license that he was born in Caroline County about 1844.
A deed of trust (DB16 pg 542), from George Miffletown to William Sorrell, of Caroline County, for the use of George’s children places William in Caroline County in 1846. The 1850 census place the family in King George, near the Miffleton family. It is generally true that the Sorrell family came from Caroline County, Virginia.
