He was married to Juanita (Guerra) Soto in 1868.[2]The couple may have had as many as 10 children.
In 1880, during the census taking, Roberto was recorded as being a Station Keeper in Starr County, Texas where he lived with his wife and 3 young children.[3]
In 1900, while still living in Starr county, the family had added several more children and Roberto was now working as a farmer.[4]
