Research Notes

The will of Jacob Souder of the Borough of Lebanon, County of Lebanon, PA was made on 28 January 1814 and recorded on 22 Aug 1814. It names his beloved wife, Anna Margaret, but does not mention children by name.[7] It seems unlikely that the man who made his will in Lebanon in January, naming his wife as Anna Margaret, is the man who was buried in Montgomery in May and apparently married to Barbara.

Souder-449 and Souder-180 appear to represent the same person because: Both profiles are for Jacob, son of Christian Souder and his wife Margaret, of Montgomery, PA. Discrepancy in birthdates probably arises from mis-reading of the Lancaster Mennonite Vital Records card, which appears to indicate that Jacob married Barbara Funk in 1752; in fact, the 1752 refers to Barbara's birthdate (see her profile for details). Please retain bio and sources from Souder-449.
