Biography

Maria was born c.1813 in Pennsylvania ^[1] and married Jacob Witmer. They were the parents of :

1. Joseph b.1838 ^[1]
2. Barbara .b.1840 ^[1]
3. Maria b.1842 m. [FNU] Hontz ^[1][2]

1850 : In Manor, Lancaster, PA : Jacob Witmer, farmer (age 36, b. PA) with (presumed) wife Maria (age 37) and children Joseph (12), Barbara (10), Maria (8), all b. PA. 1850

Maria is presumed to have died before 1860. Her husband and children are recorded on the 1860 census living in Medina, Ohio, but Maria is not with them. ^[3]

Notes

Hettie Witmer, b.1848,^[4] initially identified as daughter of this family, but evidently incorrect as she does not appear with them on the 1850 census.
