Priscilla B. was born 16 May 1836 in Massachusetts, the daughter of Stephen and Lydia Soule. [1]
In 1850, Stephen and Lydia Soule and their children lived with Stephen’s brother William in Duxbury, Massachusetts. The household included William Soule, 62, a yeoman with $1600 in real estate; Stephen Soule, 56, a mariner; his wife Lydia, 51; and their children, Louisa, 25; Maria L., 22; Lawrence P., 19, a Mason; Fernando, 17, a mariner; Priscilla B., 14, in school; and Oscar, 10, in school. All were born in Massachusetts. [2]
In 1855, the Soule family lived in Duxbury, Massachusetts. The household included Stephen Soule, 63, a mariner; his wife Lydia, 57; and their five children: Maria, 28; Priscilla, 19; Fernando, 22, a mariner; Oscar, 15, a shoemaker; and Louisa (Soule) Messenger, 30 (a widow). All were born in Massachusetts. [3]
In 1860, they lived in Duxbury, MA. The household included Stephen Soule, 68, a farmer with $2000 in real estate and $200 in personal estate; his wife Lydia, 62; their children, Fernando, 27, a shoemaker; Priscilla, 24, a seamstress; Maria, 29, a dressmaker; and Louisa (Soule) Messenger, 34. And, George Messenger, 5 (Louisa’s son). Living, apparently on the same property, but considered a separate household was Stephen and Lydia’s son, Lawrence Soule, 29, a Mason; his wife, Mercie, 26; and their son Winthrop P., 1. All members of both households were born in MA. [4]
