Alexander Soule was born in Hebron, Massachusetts, which later became Maine, in 1795, the son of James Soule and Mary Holmes. [1]
Some transcriptions seem to indicate he was born in Dover, MA, USA. However, it is more likely that he was actually born in Oxford, ME, USA, and the birth was recorded in Dover (as the home of his parents, perhaps?).
He married Hannah Draper in 1824 and they resided in Dover, where he was a farmer. They had 4 children, all born in Dover:
He enlisted in the military during the War of 1812, on February 6, 1813, and served until his discharge at Boston, Massachusetts, on August 6, 1814. He applied for a pension when he was 75 years old, in 1871.[2]
He died in 1878 and is buried at the Highland Cemetery in Dover.[3]
