My interest in my heritage has grown over the years. The older I get, the more grandchildren I have, the more i feel desperate to learn. I don't have much information for either side however, I know there are family members, also on both sides, have a great deal of genealogy, family tree's, and other info. I have reached out to a few and none have followed through with helping me. I'm looking for ANY/as many connections. My mother was Bonnie Jean Baughman. Her father, Jacob Frank Baughman and her mother was Opal Ray Baughman. I have the names of my great-grandfather, great-grandmother, and great-grandfather's and grand-mother's on my mother's side. I started my own Wikitree and GEDmatch profiles today and my DNA test was completed by 23 and Me. I also have some information on ancestry dot com as well. I would probably have some matches there, with some half-siblings and cousin's. I don't really know what else i can say here. I would LOVE for anyone who think they may be a connection, somewhere in my ancestry to please reach out to me and help me.

Hi Rhonda,

Using the clues you put in your grandmother's bio, I was able to find this record at FamilySearch for her marriage to Frank Baughman in 1937. Included in the record is the names of both sets of great-grandparents:

  • "Indiana Marriages, 1811-2007," database with images, FamilySearch ( : 10 December 2017), Frank Baughman and Opal Ray, 21 Aug 1937; citing Bartholomew, Indiana, United States, Marriage Registration, Indiana Commission on Public Records, Indianapolis; FHL microfilm 004201891.

You can copy and paste that paragraph in to both Opal and Jacob Frank' biographies in the source section.

I used our research tool that make finding the source easier. I use it all the time and it helps me remember different places to check. To give it a try, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research, scroll down near the bottom of that list, and select Research with RootsSearch (use your WikiTree email & password). There are over 20 websites to access from there. You can read more about the tool in the RootsSearch FAQ.

If you add some locations for probable birth and death, the tool works better. Even the country will help narrow down the records that are searched and help you get better results. There are buttons underneath each location that you can use to indicate that it is uncertain.
