Biography

Frank Webster Southall born 1837 in Amelia County, Virginia was the son of Philip Southhall and Elizabeth Webster. Frank Southall served in Company "G," First Regiment of the Virginia Cavalry from the beginning to the end of the War between the States. He was elected First Lieutenant at the reorganization in May of 1862, promoted to Captain July 16, 1863, and was wounded in the Valley Campaign of 1864. He married Miss Ellen J. O'Sullivan, daughter of Dr. John O'Sullivan and his wife Elizabeth Wood, in 1863. There were two daughters of this marriage.

He passed away June 1900 and is buried in the Southall Cemetery of Amelia County. His wife preceded him in death.
