Biography


May Belle Southwell was born[1] on 20 Dec 1878 to parents Asa Southwell and Ella (Abbott) Southwell in Henrietta Township, Jackson County, Michigan. A farming area north of Jackson, which includes Pleasant Lake. The 1880 census[2] shows the young May Belle living with her family in Henrietta Tounship.

She also has a younger brother, Charles, born in 1885. On 17 March 1897 May Belle is married[3] to George Dunn in Jackson, Michigan. Between 1898 and 1918, May Belle gives birth to their five children. The 1920 census shows the family residing in Parma, Michigan.

They raised their children right there in Parma, Michigan. After the kids were grown and moved away, some time in the 1940s , May Belle and George moved to the city of Jackson, six miles east of Parma. May Belle Dunn passed away there in Jackson on 01 March 1951 and she is burried[4] in Campbell Cemetery, Parma, Jackson County, Michigan.
