"In 1867, they removed from the Empire State settling in Winnebago County, Illinois. Five years later they took up their residence about three miles northwest of Cambridge, where they lived about one year, removing then to a farm of their own in the northern part of Polk County. After a year passed there, they came to town and resided here continuously till death released them from earthly pain and suffering" - quoted from obituary of his wife Charlotte.
