Biography

Phebe was born circa 1760. Her parentage is unknown at this time. There is much debate on whether or not she was related to the Southwicks of Salem, Massachusetts. In the Frothingham book, she was listed as "Phebe Southwick". It is unknown if Southwick was a maiden name or if it was a married name. Her identity remains a mystery. She and James Frothingham had many children.

She is not to be confused with the Phebe Southwick who married William Cobb.
