Biography

Phoebe was born in Germany on 9 December 1842. Phoebe's family arrived in the United States about 1843 or 1849.[1]

In 1870[2] and 1880,[3] they were living in Jefferson Township, Coshocton, Ohio.

In 1900, Phoebe was a widow and living in Warsaw, Coshocton, Ohio, with three of her children. [4]

Phoebe died 14 October 1919 at her daughter's home in Warsaw, Coshocton, Ohio.[5]


PARALYSIS FATAL TO MRS. SIGMAN AT WARSAW HOME

Mrs. Phoebe Sigman, 70, died at the home of her daughter Mrs. William Bickel in Warsaw Tuesday morning following a long illness from a stroke of paralysis.

Mrs. Sigman’s maiden name was Sowers. She was born in Germany and came to this country at the age of seven. Following her marriage to George Sigman they made their home in Warsaw, where Mr. Sigman died about 32 years ago. Recently Mrs. Sigman had made her home with her daughter. She was a member of the Evangelical church of Darling’s Run.

The following son and daughters survive: Newton Sigman Columbus; J. P. Sigman, Coshocton, George, Darling’s Run, Mrs. Rose King, Mohawk, Mrs. Margaret Smith, Mohawk, Mrs. William Bickel, Warsaw.

Funeral arrangements had not been completed Tuesday.[6]
