The 100 Days of Appalachia is a goal to focus on Genealogy and the Appalachia Project on WikiTree. There will be Mini Challenges, Quick Tasks, Show and Tell, Brick Wall Weekends, Notables Improvement and more. Every Day will be something to work on that is related to Appalachia or to help out other Appalachians.
The Calendar will be updated every Sunday night for the week. COMING SOON
PLEASE do not work ahead. This is about sharing the love of Genealogy and Appalachia as a Project. There are no trackers or badges or winners stickers. It is about our Community coming together to celebrate Genealogy and Appalachia on WikiTree.
The Challenge Starts on May 1st and ends on August 8th, 2025.
Do as little or as much as your wish. Each day will be a different Appalachia-centric mini quest.

Task Types
- The tasks/quests are decided by the Team Leaders and Project Manager, in advance.
The basic list of daily tasks are:
- Notable Monday - Our Notables need your help! They need their CC7 increased so they can be a candidate for Featured Profiles of the Week and/or they need connected to the big tree. Because our Project had to create many of it's own Notables, this is a big task that needs everyone's help. An Appalachia Notable RAWK! :) Please do not pick a Notable to work on as the Team Leaders have one already chosen. One will be listed on the calendar *every week* for members to group RAWK.
- Show and Tell Tuesday - Each week will be your opportunity to show off a favorite profile or ask for help on one. We will also throw in other Show and Tell quests for a little fun.
- Wednesday Quest - Quick Tasks that are easy and that improve our Appalachian Profiles. These tasks have been chosen by the Team Leaders as a "tour" around Appalachia and WikiTree and beyond.
- Photo Theme Thursday - A different Appalachian theme every week...already chosen by the Team Leaders. Post your photo on G2G, Discord thread and also on the profile!
- Brick Wall Weekend - Help out our fellow Appalachian Members with their Brick Walls. You have three days. Can we break some brick walls down? Each week, the Team Leaders will choose a Brick Wall from this category.
Note: Each day already has a specific task/quest/profile selected. Please follow the Calendar (it is key) or the weekly G2G post to find out which specific task/quest/profile was selected for the day. Every Day is a surprise! :)
There is not a tracker button for these 100 days of Appalachia activities.

- The primary goal of the Appalachia Project is to work collaboratively on WikiTree profiles of Appalachian people with proper sourcing, detailed biographies and appropriate categories.
- The project is open to those interested in the Appalachian areas.
- To accomplish this goal is simple: Add (or enhance existing) Profiles, Write, Source and Connect.
- Add Appalachian-related profiles, checking for existing profiles to avoid duplication. If any duplicate profiles exist, request merges.
- Write comprehensive, well-sourced biographies.
- Add any relevant categories to Appalachian profiles.
- Connect Profiles to the WikiTree tree.
