The 105th Ohio Volunteer Infantry (or 105th OVI) was an infantry regiment in the Union Army during the American Civil War.[1].
A resolution to create the 105th Ohio regiment was made at a War Meeting held at Bloomfield, Ohio, on July 17, 1862. The meeting was attended by members of the military committees of Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Mahoning and Trumbull counties. During this meeting Major A. S. Hall was appointed to a colonelcy and the following men were appointed to a regimental committee: Abner Kellogg (Ashtabula), B. B. Woodbury (Geauga), S. S. Osborn (Lake), Reuben Carroll (Mahoning) and John M. Stull (Trumbull).[2]
Service
The 105th Ohio Infantry was organized at Cleveland, Ohio and mustered in for three years service on August 20, 1862 under the command of Colonel Albert S. Hall. The regiment was recruited in northeastern Ohio counties primarily along these lines: [3]

The regiment lost a total of 240 men during service; 3 officers and 104 enlisted men killed or mortally wounded, 7 officers and 126 enlisted men died of disease.
