A census of the civilian inhabitants and militiamen of the Spanish Louisiana Territory was taken in 1766 by two census enumerators, each making their own copy.
The following information was enumerated for each head-of-household:

- Horses and Mules [Bestias Cavalt]
- Large livestock [Ganado mayors]
- Lesser livestock [Ganado menos]
- Muskets [Fuziles]
