Deed of Mortgage

This Indenture made this thirtieth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five between John L Deputy of Red Lion Hundred in the County of New Castle and State of Delaware, farmer, and Mary his wife of the one part and Samuel Draper of the Hundred of Red Lion in the County and State aforesaid of the other part
Winesseth; That the said John L Deputy in and by a certain obligation or writing obligatory under hand and seal bearing even date herewith stands bound unto the said Samuel Draper in the sum of one thousand lawful money of the United States of America, conditions for the payment of the just and full sum of five hundred dollars like lawful money on or before the first day of June which will be in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty six with lawful interest for the same from the day of the date thereof payable annually, as in and by the said obligation and condition thereof, relation being thereunto had may more fully and at large appear.
Now therefore the said John L Deputy and Mary his wife for and in consideration of the aforesaid debt, a sum of five hundred dollars and for the better securing the payment thereof -- with its interest unto the said Samuel Draper his executors, administrators or assigns in discharge of the said recited obligation and in consideration of the further sum of fifty cents by the said Samuel Draper to the said John L Deputy and Mary his wife, in hand paif at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof, is acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold, released and confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, release, and confirm unto the said Samuel Draper and to his heirs and assigns all that Plantation Tract piece or parcel of land
situate lying and being in the Hundred of Red Lion, in the County of New Castle and State of Delaware and bounded by lands of William Silver Esqr, lands of John McCall and by the Road leading from the Red Lion Tavern to the Buck Tavern on the North and on the East by the Road leading from the Red Lion Tavern to St Georges containing one hundred and one acres be the same more or less.
Together with all and singular the houses, out-houses, buildings, barns, stables, gardens, orchards, improvements, ways, woods, waters, water courses, rights, liberties, privileges, hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the said Plantation, tract, piece or parcel of land with the hereidtaments and premises hereby granted or meaned or intended so to be, with the appurtenances unto the said Samuel Draper, his heirs and assigns to the only proper use, benefit and behoof of the said Samuel Draper, his heirs, and assigns forever, provided always nevertheless, that if the said John L Deputy, his heirs, executors or administrators, shall and do well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Samuel Draper, his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns, the aforesaid debt in sum of five hundred dollars money aforesaid on the day and time herein before mentioned and appointed for the payment thereof with interest according to the condition of the said recited obligation, without any fraud or further delay and without any deduction, defalsation or abatement to be made of any thing for or in respect of any taxes, charges or assessments whatsoever that then and from thereafter as well this present Indenture and the estate hereby granted as the said recited obligation shall cease, determine and become absolutely void to all interest and purpose whatsoever any thing herein before contained to the contrary in any wise notwithstanding--
In Witnesseth, whereof the said John L Deputy and Mary his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

Be it remembered that on this thirtieth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five, John L Deputy party to the foregoing Indenture personally came before me, Thomas Clayton, Chief Justice of the State of Delaware and did acknowledge the said Indenture to be his deed, and be it further remembered that on the day and year aforesaid, Mary Deputy wife of the said John L Deputy and also a party to the foregoing Indenture, personally came before me the said Thomas Clayton, and she upon private examination taken by me apart from her said husband, did acknowledge the said Indenture to be her deed, and that she executed the same willingly without compulsion or threats or fear of her husband's displeasure -- Given under my hand the day and year aforesaid.

Personally appeared, Jonathan Draper, executor of Samuel Draper, deceased, the Mortgage named in the Mortgage here recorded and acknowledged to have received full satisfaction for the principle sum of money and the interest secured to be paid by said mortgage
