The following is "A three month report of a common school taught by James B. Lynn on (illegible) in the 1st Concession south of East Lake school in the Township of Hallowell commencing Dec1st 1837 and ending Feb 28th 1838 in which 34 scholars have been taught whose names together with the books used will be found hereafter."[1]
