- This indenture made this fourteenth day of June in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty one, between Gabriel Deputy of Sussex County in the State of Delaware, Nathaniel Beauchamp and Sally Ann, his wife of New Castle County in said state and John Clarke and Elizabeth, his wife, also of said New Castle County, all, of the one part, and Nathaniel H Johnson of said New Castle County, of the other part
- Witnesseth, that the said Gabriel Deputy, Nathaniel Beauchamp and Sally Ann his wife, and John Clarke and Elizabeth his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars, lawful money of the United States of America, to them paid, the aforesaid Nathaniel H Johnson, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and therewith fully satisfied, contented and paid, Hath granted, bargained, and sold, given, released, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do, grant, bargain and sell, give, release, convey and confirm unto him, the said Nathaniel H Johnson, his heirs and assigns, all the right, title, claim, interest and property of them the said Gabriel Deputy, Nathaniel Beauchamp and Sally Ann his wife, and John Clark and Elizabeth his wife, of, in and to the following described tract, piece or parcel of land situate in Nanticoke Hundred in the County of Sussex, and State of Delaware, to wit;
- About one hundred acres be the same more or less, being a part of their part of the Estate of Nathaniel Hays, deceased, which after his death came to his daughter Nancy, the then wife of Gabriel Deputy, aforesaid, and lying
- in the North East Ward of a beaverdam and pond, and bounded on the North by land of Ken Johnson's, on the East by land of the said Gabriel Deputy, on the South by land, late Mr Griffith, deceased, on the South West by land of William Sharp, and being part of this tract late, sold off to the said Sharp, and on the West by land of Alexander Johnson, amounting as aforesaid to be about one hundred acres be the same more or less, together with all and singular, the interests, tenements, privileges, hereditaments, and appurtenances, thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the revision, revisions, remainder, remainders, rents, fees, and profits thereof. To have and to hold, the hereby conveyed premises and every the appurtenances, to the said Nathaniel H Johnson, his heirs and assigns, forever, and the only proper use, benefit and behoof
- And the said Gabriel Deputy, Nathaniel Beauchamp and Sally Ann his wife, and John Clark and Elizabeth his wife, for themselves and their heirs, hereby consent and agree to and with the said Nathaniel H Johnson, that they, the said Grantors, of the conveyed premises, unto him, the said Nathaniel H Johnson, his heirs and assigns, against the future claim of them or any of them or of their or any either of their heirs, shall and will warrant, and forever defend by these presents
- In witnesseth whereof, they the said, Gabriel Deputy, Nathaniel Beauchamp and Sally Ann his wife, and John Clark and Elizabeth his wife, have hereunto set their hands and seals this fourteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one aforesaid

- Be it remembered that on the seventh day of August in the year of Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one before the subscriber, a notary and Justice of the State aforesaid, Elizabeth Clark wife of John Clark, named in this Indenture, personally appeared and acknowledged said Indenture to be her act and deed and desired that it might be recorded and at the same time she was examined separate and apart from her husband and acknowledged that she executed the said Indenture, willingly, without compulsion or threats or fear of her husband's displeasure
